Planet, a global integrated payments leader, has today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Proximis, a unified commerce solution provider for the Retail sector.

 

Planet's acquisition of Proximis extends its reach in Retail beyond payments and creates an innovative and unique unified commerce platform for online, mobile and in-store – one that connects all stock management systems with payments to deliver an improved consumer shopping experience.

 

Launched in 2013, with operations in France and the United Kingdom, Proximis is a feature-rich commerce platform based on scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure. The company enables retailers to provide consumers a frictionless shopping journey between all digital and physical points of sale.

 

Proximis technology integrates retailers' existing physical infrastructure with their online stores to solve complex commerce problems, including Click & Collect, online purchases, endless aisle, returns and inventory management. This creates a consistent in-store and online shopping experience for customers, and helps to drive sales growth with Proximis customers growing five times faster than retailers using other solutions.

 

The integration of Proximis into the Planet platform, will enhance the range of services that Planet is able to offer customers, further differentiating it from other payment providers and deepening its relationships with retailers.
