Payments company Planet, has today announced it has been chosen by IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) to become its preferred European payments partner. Planet will provide integrated payment services to IHG franchisees, managed properties and brands such as Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza, delivering a consistent payments experience to guests across Europe through one platform.

 

IHG chose Planet to help consolidate multiple supplier relationships, and partner with one provider for acquiring, processing and payment gateway services, which are fully integrated to IHG's chosen Property Management System. This will be more efficient and save time for staff, simplify reconciliation and preserve vital revenue. In addition, IHG benefit from day-to-day support through one contact. IHG can process payment types for both domestic and international guests, including support for all major card schemes, which comply with PSD2 Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) security. Alipay and WeChat Pay digital wallets are also included to attract Chinese guests when they return.

 

Payment in the guest's currency of choice with conversion services gives them greater freedom to pay how they want to. Furthermore, Express Check-Out means guests have the flexibility to leave the hotel at their leisure while a secure payment is automatically processed, and queues are reduced in the hotel reception.
