  • If you receive a City Cash refund in your shopping destination, you must get your Tax Free form approved by Customs and return it to Planet within 21 days or your credit card used for guarantee will get charged.
  • At the airport, please allow enough time for Customs approval process before your flight departs.
  • Make sure the goods are sealed and unused.
  • If you are a resident of the Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla your Tax Free form can be duly export validated by the respective Customs, previous payment of the IGIC Tax in Canary Islands and the IPSI Tax in the case of Ceuta and Melilla.
  • If you are departing a Spanish airport but changing flights at another EU airport, and if the goods you are exporting are to be checked through to a destination outside the EU, go to Customs at the Spanish airport and your Tax Free form will be export validated as if you were at the EU departure point.
  • In smaller airports, there may be no Customs Official present, in this case, look for the Customs deposit box and instructions.

Tax Free shopping in Madrid

Madrid has it all, including several major malls. But in terms of commercial districts, there are two you mustn’t miss.

Grand Vía

  • Shopping centre centered around here stretching from Calle de Alcalá to the Plaza de España.
  • The pedestrianised Fuencarral leads to the Fuencarral shopping centre, and Corredera Baja, a veritable smörgåsbord of desirable high street and youth brands – this area is also known as Triball.

Gran Via

  • Everything from Jack & Jones via KIKO to National Geographic.
  • Further north the Gran Via leads into Princesa where you’ll find Estudio, Aftershock and Gaes plus much more. Check out the area around Calles Hortaleza and Almirante for young, exciting fashion.



  • The grid of streets here offers a wealth of international and local couture.
  • Just to the east of Salamanca are more shops around Calles General Castaños and Pelayo – you’ll find lots more boutiques including up-and-coming designers.


Las Rozas Village

  • One of Europe’s largest shopping centres, there are over 100 luxury boutiques with a mix of brands such as Michael Kors and Armarni.

  • Shopping destination that cuts through the heart of Barcelona, with shops such as Stella McCartney and Saint Laurent.

La Roca village

Calle Colon

  • Art nouveau Colon Market on Jorge Juan.
  • This busy shopping area is home to fun labels like Celio and Gilgars for men and Stradivarius for women.

Calle Poeta Querol 

  • Valencia’s ‘golden mile’ with designer stores including Ermenegildo Zegna, Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger.

  • Beach, bars, restaurants, entertainment, and fashion.
  • Shopping here is a pleasure and a way to disconnect from the beach and do something different.
  • La Cañada is the best known and largest shopping centre in the city, and where you will find the larger international brands such as Guess, Mango, Lacoste, Stradivarius and Sephora.

Puerto Banús

  • Home to the largest international luxury brands such as Christian Dior, Armani, Bottega Veneta and Gucci.
  • This is one of Marbella’s most exclusive areas and often chosen by celebrities.



  • The streets around the Guggenheim museum and nearby Federico Moyúa and Gran Via are home to a mix of high street and boutique shops.

Shopping Advice


  • You can go shopping any day of the year.
  • Although shopping hours are generally 10:00-20:30, from Monday to Saturday.
  • The most traditional stores open from 10:00 to 13:30 and from 17:00 to 20:30.
  • You will find shopping malls and stores located in tourist areas open daily, including on Sunday and holidays (except January 1st and 6th, and December 25th).
