Slovakia reflects many centuries of influence that has left an indelible mark on the country’s cultural fabric. Shopping in Bratislava
Bratislava offers a wide selection of domestic and foreign brands both in large shopping centers, small shops and boutiques. The most important shopping streets are located in the centre of Bratislava; Michalská street, Obchodná, Laurinská, Panská and Ventúrska.
Those who prefer a lively atmosphere can walk into the center of the pedestrian zone. This starts from St. Michael's Gate, leading all the way to the Danube. There you can find cafes, terraces, bistros and restaurants as well as international and domestic brands.
Large shopping centres are generally located on the outskirts of the city. The most popular is Aupark which is accessible on foot or by bus whereas Avion, located close to the airport is also popular. The oldest shopping centre’s include Polus City Center on Vajnorská street and the Shopping Palace on Zlaté Piesky in the north of the city. The newest shopping mall is the Eurovea Galleria which forms part of the modern urban district and is located on the banks of the Danube, in the immediate vicinity of the historic centre.
Aupark Bratislava is located on the right bank of the Danube river, close to the main landmarks of the city - Bratislava Castle and New Bridge. The northern part of Aupark is situated by the Golden Gate, which separates the Danube from the Vienna route. Aupark, with more than fifty stores is the most popular shopping and entertainment centre in the Slovak Republic. Brands and flagship stores include Peek & Cloppenburg, Zara, H & M, Bershka, Stradivarius, C & A, Guess, Gant, Tommy Hilfiger, Swarovski, Trussardi, United Colors Of Benetton, Promod, Calvin Klein, Faith, Guru, L'Occitane, and Mango.
Avion Shopping Park
Avion has experienced huge popularity over the last few years hosting a strong representation of local and international brands including H & M, C & A, Zara, Marks & Spencer, Next, New Yorker, Peek & Cloppenburg and Ikea.
The newest shopping centre in Bratislava Eurovea Galleria is centrally located beside the Danube. Spread over three floors well-established and lesser-known brands such as Debenhams, Desigual, Peek & Cloppenburg, Sisley, Cerruti, H & M, Next, s.Oliver and Guess sit side by side. In addition, the Galleria hosts cultural and social events and is the start point for the Bratislava marathon.
Polus City Center
Centrally located, Polus is the oldest shopping centre in Bratislava with a good selection of stores including Mango and H & M.
The Shopping Palace is situated on the main road from Bratislava, near the Golden Sands. Here you will find brands such as Reserved, Mustang, Lee Cooper, United Colors of Benetton, Gate and Kenvelo.
