Payments company Planet today announced it has partnered with takepayments Ltd, a payment solutions provider for independent businesses, to bring simplified, digital services to merchants across the UK and Ireland. Through a single payment terminal, small-to-medium sized business will now have everything they need to process safer, digital payments as stores and venues begin to reopen.

 

Consumers now expect a fast and smooth experience when they come to pay at the till, with payment options they are familiar with. With this new service, the latest mobile Android payment device will process faster, safer, contactless payments as standard including Apple Pay and Google Pay digital wallets.  This will be vital when the UK contactless limit increases again to £100 later in 2021. When international travel reopens in the UK and Ireland, merchants can also attract tourists by offering currency conversion services for payments in the spenders’ own currency. As well as support for Chinese wallet methods with Alipay and WeChat Pay.
