Planet, a global integrated payments leader, has today announced two new point of sale (POS) integrations with Cegid Retail Y2 for both its wireless and fixed payment solutions, helping retailers deliver an enhanced in-store experience for customers.

 

With shoppers accustomed to shopping online during the pandemic, retailers are looking to better combine in-store and digital to deliver a great multi-channel experience. The new service provides more choice and flexibility of integrations along with fast and simple plug and play implementation, allowing retailers to quickly benefit from it.

 

As retailers welcome customers back in store, they are looking for partners that can help them combine the benefits of shopping online – convenience, ease and speed – with the need to provide a COVID-19 safe in-store environment.

 

Retailers benefit from Planet’s integrations with Cegid Retail Y2 using stylish android wireless payment terminals that ensure a faster, safer and secure in-store payments process. It gives Retail staff the ability to take payments on the move wherever they are in the store to deliver a more personalised and safer in-store shopping experience. Retailers can therefore take the shopping experience to the customer when in-store, while helping customers avoid queues.

 

Working in partnership with MWC Partners to develop the new integration, this connects Planet’s payment software with Cegid’s Retail Y2 POS system to run both wireless and fixed Pin Entry Devices (PEDs) in Retail stores.

It builds further on Planet’s integrated digital single Retail payments platform, offering acquiring, processing, VAT refunds, digital wallets and currency conversion all on a single slick android payment terminal. Acceptance of multiple payment methods with the major card schemes is included, as well as Alipay and WeChat Pay digital wallets to attract high value Chinese tourists when they return.
